Katy Swainston is a multi-award-nominated writer, filmmaker and digital leader from the North East of England.
.The first in her family to attend university, she studied Archaeology at Durham and Museum Studies at UCL, later training in Writing and Producing Comedy at the National Film and Television School.
Her work spans comedy, screenwriting and prose fiction, alongside senior roles delivering digital storytelling for national arts institutions including the National Gallery and Kew Gardens.
Katy’s background in state education and her path into higher education continue to shape her perspective and her commitment to widening access to the creative industries. She is currently developing her debut novel and new screen projects.
